Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc, (Mynt) which operates GCash, the Philippines’ largest mobile money provider, and the Xend Group recently partnered up to enable GCash QR code payment acceptance on all Xend branches in the country. This will enable said branches to accept digital payments with GCash.
The Xend Group is among the latest string of partners to embrace the vision of a cashless future.
“We are excited to launch this partnership with Xend. They’re a well-known startup in the community, and both companies share the same passion for innovation. We’re happy that they’ve enabled their customers with a more convenient way to pay at their stores,” said Anthony Thomas, President and CEO of Mynt.
“The Xend Group is committed to offer tech-enabled services to its customers. This partnership with GCash where our customers can pay using their mobile phones through the GCash App is a welcome development as we strive to provide more convenience to our customers by using the GCash QR technology,” added Bjorn Pardo, President and CEO of the Xend Group.
Using the GCash QR feature of the GCash App is simple. A customer with an iPhone or an Android smartphone only needs to download or update to the latest version of the GCash App, register an account, and fund GCash wallet at any of over 15,000 GCash Partner Outlets nationwide. Once done, the customer just has to tap on Scan QR, point a phone’s camera at the partner’s QR code, scan the code, and pay.
