18th Philippine Robotics Olympiad – Discovering and Developing the Future.

Over 1,200 schools both public and private competed for the 18th Philippine Robotics Olympiad last September 2-5 (Preliminaries) and September 6 (Finals). Held at the SM North EDSA Cyberzone, The Annex. Centered on the theme “SMART Cities”, a synergy of innovation, artistry, ingenuity and scientific flair of young Filipino students. Proving to the world the amazing pool of talent that the country has, especially in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
With the 18th Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO) techie warriors are again ready to shock the nation with highly innovative robots and robotic systems. The idea of a virtual and locomotive adventure in the field of Science and Technology can do wonders on the creative penchant of the country’s future engineers and scientists.
The world championship
Students from the winning schools will comprise the Philippine Robotics National Team to represent the country at the World Robotic Olympiad Finals 2019 to be held in Gyor, Hungary on November 7-11, 2019, with sixty seven (67) countries participating.
The annual event, organized by FELTA Multi-Media Inc., in partnership with the Science Education Institute, Department of Science and Technology (SEI-DOST). Supported also by the Department of Education, it seeks to provide an opportunity for students to learn the latest trends in the scientific field especially through robotics.
“Through the PRO, we do not only see the great potential of our students and the vast opportunities that the country can explore to continue providing the best educational resources to our students”, said Mylene Abiva, National Organizer of the Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO). “We also put forward the best minds that we have here, that can be at par with the best of the world”.
