South Korea’s Sanctuary Games Reveals Debut RPG Zanerdin: The Unbound
Newly-formed independent developer Sanctuary Games has officially unveiled its first project: Zanerdin: The Unbound, a collectible turn-based RPG set in the world of Kalatos.
The game is in development for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, with pricing to be announced.
The studio emphasizes a player-focused approach, combining gacha mechanics with strategic turn-based combat without microtransactions.
CEO Hyunduk You explained, “Although we’re an indie-sized team, we don’t believe the narrative needs to be indie-sized. Zanerdin: The Unbound reflects our mission to create games that represent what gamers want.”
Game Overview
Zanerdin: The Unbound follows Zanerdin, a hero born in the powerless Chaos region, as he journeys to the Blessed lands to uncover the truth about his family. The world of Kalatos is shaped by six elemental Blessings—Water, Fire, Earth, Metal, Wind, and Electric—each defining a character’s abilities, social standing, and destiny.
Players progress through 60 turn-based battle stages, including Boss Raids, Abyss Boss Raids, and hidden challenges. All characters, pets, and gear are earned through gameplay, offering progression without paywalls.
