Xiaomi 17 Series Debuts in the Philippines, Strengthens Leica Partnership

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Xiaomi 17 Series in the Philippines, highlighting the next chapter of its long-running collaboration with legendary camera maker Leica.

The lineup consists of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17, both designed to push flagship mobile photography while maintaining slim, refined form factors.

Refined Design with Xiaomi Guardian Structure

The Xiaomi 17 Series adopts a minimalist aesthetic defined by slim bezels, smooth curves, and a near-borderless display. Both models are built with Xiaomi Guardian Structure, which incorporates Xiaomi Shield Glass, reinforced aluminum frames, and IP68 dust and water resistance.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra measures 8.29mm thin and weighs 218.4g, making it the brand’s thinnest Ultra model to date. It comes in Black, White, and Starlit Green. Meanwhile, the more compact Xiaomi 17 measures 8.06mm thick and weighs 191g, available in Venture Green, Alpine Pink, Ice Blue, and Black.

Xiaomi × Leica: Advanced Imaging at the Core

Photography remains the centerpiece of the series.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra introduces Xiaomi’s first 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor, the Light Fusion 1050L, engineered for enhanced HDR and improved light capture. It is paired with a Leica 200MP 75–100mm telephoto camera capable of mechanical optical zoom and extended digital reach up to a 400mm equivalent focal length.

Video features include Dolby Vision and ACES Log recording at up to 4K 120fps on both the main and telephoto cameras, positioning the device for cinema-grade content creation.

The Xiaomi 17, positioned as a compact imaging flagship, uses a 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor with 13.5EV dynamic range. It also features a Leica 60mm floating telephoto lens capable of portrait, macro, and AI-powered zoom photography, alongside a 50MP front camera with enhanced autofocus.

An optional Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit adds professional-style controls, including a two-stage shutter button, dedicated video button, wrist strap, and IP54 protection.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Next-Gen Battery Tech

Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, featuring Qualcomm’s 3rd Gen Oryon CPU and next-generation Adreno GPU to handle demanding tasks such as 4K video capture, gaming, and multitasking.

Battery performance is another highlight. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra houses a 6000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge support. The Xiaomi 17 packs a larger 6330mAh battery, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The series debuts Xiaomi Surge Battery technology, incorporating 16% silicon content for improved energy density while maintaining a slim profile.

High-Brightness OLED with HyperRGB

Both smartphones feature custom OLED displays with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra introduces Xiaomi HyperRGB technology with a redesigned OLED subpixel layout to improve clarity and power efficiency.
