Huawei has confirmed that the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro and HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 will officially launch in the Philippines this April. The announcement follows their global unveiling at the “Now is Your Run” product launch event in Madrid, Spain.

The upcoming local release signals the return of Huawei’s Mate flagship smartphone series and the evolution of its performance-focused running smartwatch line.

HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro Revives the Mate Flagship Line

Huawei describes the Mate 80 Pro as a defining step in the comeback of its premium Mate series, long recognized for pushing the company’s smartphone innovation.

The device features an AI-powered True-to-Color Camera system engineered to deliver accurate color reproduction across complex lighting environments. It adopts the brand’s signature Dual Space Ring design and is reinforced with 2nd Gen Kunlun Glass for improved durability. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, Huawei highlights its SuperCool Dual Phase Change Heat Dissipation system, designed to maintain sustained performance while minimizing thermal throttling during heavy usage. The Mate 80 Pro integrates advanced AI capabilities aimed at elevating both photography and everyday productivity.

The Philippine launch marks the return of the Mate series after a two-year hiatus in the local market.

WATCH GT Runner 2 Focuses on Precision and Marathon Support

The HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 builds on five years of research and development in sports wearable technology. It introduces a new 3D floating antenna architecture paired with an intelligent positioning algorithm that maintains route tracking and distance calculation even when GPS signals are temporarily interrupted.

A new intelligent marathon mode offers race-day management tools designed to guide runners through pacing and performance tracking. The device targets both professional athletes and amateur runners seeking data-driven training insights.

Two-time Olympic athlete and global ambassador Eliud Kipchoge participated in the product’s development and shared insights during the global launch event, emphasizing its goal of enhancing the smartwatch experience for runners of all levels.

Philippine Launch This April

Both devices are scheduled to arrive in the Philippines this April, with full pricing and availability details expected closer to launch.

With the Mate 80 Pro reviving Huawei’s flagship smartphone ambitions and the WATCH GT Runner 2 refining its performance wearable portfolio, the brand aims to strengthen its presence in the premium mobile and fitness technology segments in 2026.
