Guardians of the Wild Sky Demo Update Adds Building Contest, Next Fest Rewards

Blue Isle Studios has released an updated demo for Guardians of the Wild Sky as part of Steam Next Fest, introducing new building components, a limited-time community contest, and an exclusive in-game item.

The update expands the demo’s creative tools while offering event-specific rewards for participating players.

New Foundation Pieces and Exclusive Plaque

The latest demo version adds new wood and stone structural foundation parts, designed to provide greater stability and flexibility when constructing bases and airships.

Players who access the demo during Steam Next Fest will unlock the Majestic Sea Whale commemorative plaque, an exclusive in-game cosmetic item recognizing participation during the festival period.

Limited-Time Building Contest

Blue Isle Studios has also launched a community building contest tied to the demo update. Players can submit functional blueprints in three categories: Best Flying Vessel, Best Compact Design, and Best Creative Design.

Winning entries will be converted into permanent in-game schematics in the full release, with creators credited and invited to participate in future playtests.

Demo Features Overview

The current demo includes:

  • Single-player and co-op support for up to 10 players
  • Custom worlds with an eight-hour play window per world
  • Character progression capped at level 20
  • Multiple explorable islands accessible by airship
  • Building systems and survival crafting mechanics

The updated demo continues to highlight the game’s core focus on exploration, airship traversal, crafting, and cooperative play ahead of its planned Early Access launch later this year.

The demo and related activities are available for the duration of this year’s Steam Next Fest.
