Google has launched an interactive scavenger hunt on Google Search to celebrate the upcoming release of “Arirang,” the new album from BTS.
The limited-time Easter egg allows fans to unlock exclusive digital rewards and tracklist hints through puzzles and trivia. The experience arrives weeks before the album’s scheduled release on March 20, building anticipation around the group’s next comeback era.
Google has previously introduced interactive features tied to BTS milestones, but the new scavenger hunt expands the concept with puzzles and collectible content tied directly to the album rollout.
How the BTS Google Search scavenger hunt works
Fans can start the experience by searching “BTS” on Google. A small bottle icon appears on the search page, which opens the scavenger hunt interface.
Once activated, users receive a series of trivia questions and puzzles based on BTS’s career history and music. The challenges range from identifying major milestones to solving emoji-based lyric puzzles.
Each completed challenge unlocks digital rewards tied to the upcoming album.
Collectible tracklist cards reveal clues about “Arirang”
The scavenger hunt includes 14 collectible cards, each featuring handwritten tracklist artwork created by the BTS members.
These digital collectibles offer fans an early look at song titles and design elements connected to the album. One example includes a card featuring the track “SWIM,” written in the handwriting of member Jungkook, while another highlights “Merry Go Round,” associated with Jin.
The collectibles gradually reveal details about the album as fans progress through the puzzles.
Additional quests unlock before album launch
Google is releasing the scavenger hunt content in stages as the album launch approaches.
The first set of puzzles allows users to collect the “Your Love Songs” reward cards. Additional “sealed quests” will unlock on March 9 and March 16, expanding the experience with new challenges and collectibles.
The final phase of the event coincides with the album’s official release on March 20.
Interactive promotions continue BTS’ digital fan engagement
The scavenger hunt reflects the group’s continued use of digital platforms to engage with its global fanbase, known as ARMY.
By embedding the experience directly within Google Search, the promotion allows fans to participate without installing additional apps while gradually revealing content connected to the upcoming album.
The album rollout will culminate with a special comeback broadcast titled “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE,” which will stream on Netflix alongside the album’s release.
