Fortune Seller Launches, Brings Gothic Inventory Roguelike to Players

Falun, Sweden-based Kiwick Studios officially released Fortune Seller on Steam and Epic Games Store on April 6. The game combines inventory management with roguelike mechanics, tasking players with selling oddities, antiques, and magical curios to a constantly changing roster of clients while covering steep weekly rent.

A free demo is available on Steam, offering players a glimpse of the first two in-game weeks, including the early mechanics of packing, selling, and strategic Tarot usage.

Gameplay: Pack, Sell, Survive

Fortune Seller’s core loop revolves around maximizing inventory space in a Tetris-style packing system. Players must fill luggage with taxidermied headpieces, heirlooms, battle-worn swords, and other quirky wares.

Weekly rent rises progressively, forcing players to carefully balance profits, bonuses, and client satisfaction. Filling every luggage slot and matching item types grants sales bonuses, while limited refreshes allow for adjusting inventory selections to meet high-value demands.

Tarot, spells, and strategic upgrades

At the end of each week, players can spend gold on Tarot and Spell cards, granting passive bonuses, item enhancements, or permanent changes to the current run. The system encourages long-term planning, letting players optimize profits while experimenting with different loadouts and magical effects.

Steampunk-inspired visuals, gothic soundscapes, and cursed objects complement the gameplay, giving the title a distinct macabre aesthetic alongside its strategic depth.

Roguelike replayability meets dark management

The roguelike structure ensures no two runs are the same. Players encounter varying customer demands, rare antiques, and Lunar events that reset inventory and increase stakes. Each session challenges players to adapt quickly, rewarding strategic packing, planning, and card selection.

With a mix of gothic design, procedural challenges, and roguelike mechanics, Fortune Seller positions itself as a unique entry in both inventory management and indie roguelike genres.

What’s next for players

Fortune Seller is now available on Steam and Epic Games for immediate download, with the full release offering continued updates, player feedback integration, and a high replayability loop.

Players seeking a challenging, atmospheric management roguelike can jump in, master their inventory, and aim to become the most in-demand shopkeeper in a city of arcane antiques.
