Cococucumber has unveiled a new trailer for Echo Generation 2 during The MIX Spring Showcase, offering fans a fresh look at the upcoming turn-based deckbuilding adventure.
The indie sequel is scheduled to launch in 2026 for Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam. Ahead of release, a limited-time public demo is now available for players on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
Demo Introduces New Story and Combat System
The demo introduces players to Sister M, a psychic child attempting to escape the mysterious FST organization while grappling with forces beyond human understanding. It provides an early look at the game’s story and a preview of its revamped tactical combat system.
Echo Generation 2 expands the franchise’s gameplay with a deckbuilding mechanic where players collect and combine more than 100 cards. These cards allow players to craft unique strategies, summon allies, and unleash powerful attacks through customized deck combinations.
Strong Reception During Steam Next Fest
The demo has already drawn attention during Steam Next Fest, where it ranked second among “Popular Upcoming” titles in the turn-based combat and deckbuilding categories. Early players have also given the demo positive reviews on both Xbox and Steam.
To celebrate the demo’s momentum and welcome new players to the series, the original Echo Generation: Midnight Edition is currently discounted. The game is available at 65 percent off on Xbox Series X|S and PC from March 5 to 18, and 50 percent off on Steam from March 9 to 16 as part of the TurnBasedThursdayFest.
Extended Demo at ID@Xbox Event
Attendees of the Game Developers Conference 2026 can also try an extended version of the Echo Generation 2 demo at the ID@Xbox Press Event on March 10.
This expanded build offers a deeper look at the new combat system and introduces another story segment centered on Jack. Players will be able to team up with a new companion in battles while experimenting with additional gameplay mechanics.
Launch Planned for 2026
Echo Generation 2 is set to release later in 2026 for PC and Xbox platforms.
