Delta Electronics Philippines Partners with Danao City to Expand EV Charging Infra in Cebu

Delta Electronics Philippines has partnered with the Danao City Government to advance electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Cebu Province.

The collaboration was formalized during the launch of the “Driving Sustainable Transport: Exploration for Danao City EV Charging Station” initiative held on February 3, 2026, at The Boardwalk in Danao City. The project aligns with the Philippines’ national Build Better More agenda and strengthens efforts toward climate-resilient and sustainable transport infrastructure.

Strengthening Public-Private Collaboration

The event was attended by Danao City Mayor Ramon ‘Nito’ Durano III, members of the City Council, representatives from Delta Electronics, CET Technologies, and local stakeholders. The initiative highlights the growing collaboration between national and local governments and the private sector in accelerating green mobility adoption.

Mayor Durano emphasized that investing in EV infrastructure positions Danao City for long-term economic growth. This also includes energy efficiency, and improved quality of life for its residents.

Vince Del Mundo, Country Manager of Delta Electronics Philippines, noted that the project demonstrates Delta’s commitment to supporting the country’s transition to cleaner and more resilient transportation systems through scalable, standards-compliant EV solutions.

Deployment of Advanced EV Charging Solutions

As part of the initiative, Delta will deploy its DC Wallbox 25kW DC fast charger and AC Max 22kW EV charging solution. The charging systems support a wide range of vehicles, including e-buses, e-trikes, motorcycles, and passenger electric cars.

Installed at a central government site, the facility provides reliable charging access for both public and private EV users. Delta’s AC chargers offer outputs ranging from 7kW to 22kW and support global charging interfaces with intelligent user authorization for secure access. Meanwhile, the dual-output DC Wallbox features a modular, wall-mounted design for cost-efficient installation and maintenance. It also comes with a built-in network connectivity for remote management and authentication.

To date, Delta has deployed more than 3 million EV chargers globally, backed by its in-house research, manufacturing, and quality assurance capabilities.

Standards-Compliant and Climate-Ready

The Danao City project complies with the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (RA 11697) and Department of Energy standards. This ensures the city meets requirements for EV-ready infrastructure and designated Green Slots under national policy.

Delta’s charging solutions are IP-rated and weather-resistant, engineered to withstand Philippine operating conditions and heavy public utilization. It ensures long-term reliability and compatibility with multiple EV platforms.

Driving Smart City Development in Northern Cebu

With this installation, Danao City Hall becomes one of the first government centers in Northern Cebu to provide public-access EV charging. The initiative supports electric public transport adoption, reduces operational costs for EV users, and contributes to cleaner urban environments.

The project marks Delta Electronics’ first Smart City initiative with the Danao City Government. It lays the groundwork for expanded collaboration in green mobility and smart energy solutions as demand continues to grow.
