Aurora Gaming nabs first win with sweep of TNC Pro Team

World champions Aurora bounced back from their opening day loss with a dominant sweep of TNC Pro Team on Saturday.

It was a comfortable victory for the Northern Lights, who needed just a combined 22 minutes to take down the Phoenixes.

Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto led the charge for Aurora in Game 1, posting a 2/0/9 performance on his pocket Guinevere pick.

It was a one-sided affair against TNC, as Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog struggled on Marcel with a 0/4/3 line, while only Justin “Zaida” Palma and Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales managed to find limited success for their side.

Aurora doubled down in Game 2, conceding just one death while keeping all their turrets intact in 11 and a half minutes of gameplay.

Last season’s MVP Dylan “Light” Catipon led the way, assisting in 12 of Aurora’s 14 total kills on Grock. Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo delivered a flawless 10/0/1 performance on Kimmy, while Edward “Edward” Dapadap added one kill and 12 assists on Lapu-Lapu.

The only bright spot for TNC came from Lance “LanceCy” Cunanan, who secured their lone kill by taking down Light with his signature Lunox during a bottom lane siege.

Aurora will next see action against Twisted Minds next Saturday in hopes of building momentum. Meanwhile TNC Pro Team looks to secure its first win against AP.Bren tomorrow.
