ASUS IoT Launches PE1000U Fanless DIN-Rail Industrial PC for Robotics, Edge AI

ASUS IoT has introduced the PE1000U, a compact, fanless industrial PC designed for edge computing applications such as autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robotics, and computer vision systems.

Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors power the PE1000U, which targets space-constrained and high-reliability environments. The DIN-rail-mountable system measures 63 × 110 × 160 mm. The system uses a rugged, fanless chassis rated IP40 and tested to meet US MIL-STD-810H vibration-resistance standards. ASUS IoT said the device supports temperatures from -25°C to 70°C and accepts between 9V to 36V DC power input. It also features a built-in ignition control for on-vehicle deployments.

ASUS IoT positions the PE1000U as a solution for real-time intelligence at the edge. The industrial PC supports applications ranging from factory automation and industrial vision to mobile robotics and semi-outdoor installations.

The PE1000U is available with Intel Core Ultra 265U or 235U processors, combining CPU, GPU, and NPU acceleration. This hybrid architecture enables responsive single-thread performance for motion control while supporting AI inference and graphics workloads at the edge.

For connectivity, the system offers front-access I/O. It has four USB ports, four COM ports, and four Ethernet ports, including two 2.5GbE ports as standard. Additional interfaces include dual CAN Bus, isolated digital I/O, and support for DisplayPort and HDMI output for up to two 4K displays. These features simplify integration with sensors, cameras, and industrial networks.

A sealed, fanless design handles thermal performance by using a wave-pattern aluminum heatsink to transfer heat directly from internal components to the enclosure. ASUS IoT said this approach allows the PE1000U to operate reliably in dusty or vibration-prone environments without active cooling, reducing maintenance requirements over long-term deployments.

ASUS IoT also highlighted the PE1000U’s suitability for robotics and vision-based systems. The compact form factor and multiple network interfaces support LiDAR, camera arrays, and motor controllers for AMR and collaborative robots, while WiFi 6E or optional 5G connectivity enables integration with fleet management platforms. In industrial vision and laser processing setups, the DIN-rail design and single-side I/O simplify cabinet installation and wiring.

The ASUS IoT PE1000U is now available globally. Pricing and local availability vary by market, with ASUS advising interested customers to contact regional representatives for more details.
