ONE VP Miesha Tate will join U.S. Tour of MMA Superstars

When it was announced in the closing weeks of 2018 that Miesha Tate will be joining ONE Championship as their new Vice President. Many of her fans (and many of ONE Championship’s) were delighted. It seems like a perfect fit for her. She is well-respected in the MMA community and she has a strong following due to her warm personality.

Tate is a wrestling state champion in high school and a strong grappler. Her solid grappling foundation catapulted her to success in MMA. She has won the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship by submitting Dutch grappling specialist Marloes Coenen (W23-L8 / 17 wins by Subs).

She has also bagged the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship belt by defeating Holly Holm via rear-naked choke in the fifth round. Holm and Tate fought a thrilling back and forth contest over four grueling rounds but Tate managed to take Holm’s back while standing and sunk in a rear-naked choke. Holly Holm struggled to escape but ended up on the ground. She had no choice but to tap or fall asleep.

After her retirement from MMA she has reinvigorated her love for grappling. She competed in no-gi tournaments, called the match-up in Quintet 3, a 5 on 5 grappling team survival match among others. She also enjoys her new role as a full-time mom.

In her new assignment as Vice President of ONE Championship. Miesha Tate will be joining a powerhouse group of MMA Superstars in an upcoming ONE Championship US Media Tour to Seattle, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. She will join former World Champion Rich Franklin CEO of ONE Warrior Series – an MMA talent search and travel series. Alongside them are ONE Championship athletes Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez, and “Super” Sage Northcutt.
