The GAC AION<\/a> UT has earned a five-star rating in the 2026 Euro NCAP safety assessment, giving the compact electric hatchback a major global safety credential as GAC Philippines opens reservations nationwide.<\/p>\n

The result comes as the AION UT enters the Philippine market with an introductory price of \u20b1998,000, down from its \u20b11,068,000 suggested retail price.<\/p>\n

AION UT scores strongly across Euro NCAP tests<\/h4>\n

The 2026 Euro NCAP assessment places greater emphasis on active safety, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and protection for vulnerable road users.<\/p>\n

The AION UT recorded a 91% score for Crash Protection, 88% for Post-Crash Safety, 74% for Crash Avoidance, and 66% for Safe Driving.<\/p>\n

GAC attributes the result to the vehicle\u2019s structural and active safety systems, positioning the AION UT among Chinese-brand models to achieve a top rating under the latest testing criteria.<\/p>\n

Built around a high-strength body structure<\/h4>\n

The AION UT uses GAC’s Dragon-Bone Embraced Body Structure, with high-strength steel making up 71% of the vehicle’s body.<\/p>\n

Its structure also incorporates a one-piece hot-stamped dual-ring design and a 180mm-wide crash box. GAC says the roof can withstand loads of up to eight tons.<\/p>\n

Occupant protection is further supported by a seven-airbag system, including a 2.1-meter V-side air curtain and a front far-side airbag designed to reduce the risk of occupants colliding with one another during side impacts.<\/p>\n

The hatchback also comes with several active safety features, including autonomous emergency braking (AEB), cyclist dooring prevention, and child presence detection.<\/p>\n

\u20b1998,000 introductory price in the Philippines<\/h4>\n

Beyond its safety credentials, the AION UT is entering the local market at an introductory price of \u20b1998,000 for the Elite variant, down from its \u20b11,068,000 SRP. This represents \u20b170,000 in introductory savings, with the model powered by a 100kW front-wheel-drive powertrain.<\/p>\n

The introductory price is available until September 30, 2026, while reservations are now open at GAC dealerships nationwide.<\/p>\n

The AION UT is offered in six exterior finishes: Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver, Twilight Lavender, and a Rococo White-Emerald Green two-tone combination. All variants come with a black interior.<\/p>\n

GAC expands its EV push<\/h4>\n

The AION UT adds another model to GAC Philippines’ growing electric vehicle lineup, joining the AION Y, AION V, Hyptec HT, and AION ES.<\/p>\n

GAC Philippines currently operates 30 dealerships nationwide and provides EV owners with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer basic warranty. Its traction battery and electric drive are covered for up to eight years or 200,000 kilometers, subject to the applicable limits.<\/p>\n
