Lucasfilm is expanding one of the most popular stories from Star Wars: Visions into a full-length anime series. Star Wars: Visions Presents \u2013 The Ninth Jedi<\/a> premieres exclusively on Disney+ Philippines<\/a> on August 5, marking the first title under the new Star Wars: Visions Presents banner.<\/p>\n

The eight-episode limited series continues the story introduced in The Ninth Jedi and The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope, giving fans a deeper look at its original characters and expanding the Star Wars universe through Japanese animation.<\/p>\n

A new chapter for Lah Kara and the next generation of Jedi<\/h4>\n

Set shortly after the events of the original animated shorts, the series follows Lah Kara as she continues her Jedi training under Margrave Juro.<\/p>\n

Together with a small group of Jedi apprentices, Kara embarks on a journey to rescue her father while confronting new challenges that test her identity and commitment to the Jedi path.<\/p>\n

Unlike the anthology format of previous Star Wars: Visions episodes, The Ninth Jedi tells a continuous story across eight episodes, allowing more time to develop its characters and world.<\/p>\n

Launching the new Star Wars: Visions Presents banner<\/h4>\n

The series also introduces Star Wars: Visions Presents, a new initiative from Lucasfilm that expands selected Star Wars: Visions stories into longer-form productions.<\/p>\n

The original Star Wars: Visions anthology showcased standalone anime interpretations of the Star Wars universe from various Japanese animation studios. With The Ninth Jedi, Lucasfilm begins exploring serialized storytelling based on one of the anthology’s most well-received episodes.<\/p>\n

Production is handled by Production I.G, with Shunsuke Tada directing the series and Kenji Kamiyama, creator of the original The Ninth Jedi, serving as supervising director.<\/p>\n

Returning cast joins new voice talent<\/h4>\n

Several cast members from the original episode return for the English dub, including Kimiko Glenn as Lah Kara, Andrew Kishino as Juro, Masi Oka as Ethan, Patrick Seitz as Homen, JP Karliak as Gramps, Simu Liu as Lah Zhima, and Neil Kaplan as the Narrator.<\/p>\n

Joining the cast are Feodor Chin as Gennoh, Young Mazino as Nawaam, Chase Sui Wonders as Tafflah, and Keone Young as Kwana.<\/p>\n
