OPPO<\/a> has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining the company’s progress in environmental protection, responsible innovation, and social initiatives as it continues expanding its presence across more than 90 countries and regions.<\/p>\n

The report details OPPO’s<\/a> sustainability strategy built around five pillars: Operations and Compliance, Environmental Protection, Caring for Employees, Virtuous Innovation, and Ecosystem Engagement. It also highlights initiatives ranging from lower-carbon operations and sustainable packaging to accessibility improvements and global education partnerships.<\/p>\n

OPPO expands green manufacturing and sustainable packaging<\/h4>\n

Environmental sustainability remains a major focus of OPPO’s<\/a> operations and product development.<\/p>\n

In 2025, the company completed life cycle assessments (LCAs) for 23 smartphone models, evaluating their environmental impact from raw material sourcing and manufacturing to logistics, product use, and end-of-life recycling. According to OPPO<\/a>, the assessments are intended to help guide the development of future products with lower environmental footprints.<\/p>\n

The company also continued reducing plastic use in its packaging by adopting recycled wastepaper materials across all OPPO product packaging and increasing the recycled paper content of smartphone packaging to approximately 43%.<\/p>\n

In Europe, OPPO<\/a> introduced paper-plastic alternatives made from plant fibers and recycled paper, replacing conventional plastics with paper-based materials that now account for around 14% of smartphone packaging in the region.<\/p>\n

Together, these initiatives form part of OPPO’s<\/a> broader strategy to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, and strengthen the environmental sustainability of its products throughout their life cycle.<\/p>\n

Carbon emissions continue to decline across operations<\/h4>\n

The report also highlights OPPO’s progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its operations and value chain.<\/p>\n

According to the company, operational carbon emissions declined by 1.22% in 2025, while Scope 3 emissions fell by 2.57% year over year. During the same period, renewable electricity usage across OPPO’s manufacturing facilities increased by nearly 70%.<\/p>\n

OPPO also completed a comprehensive Scope 3 emissions inventory covering 11 major categories across its value chain, providing a broader framework for monitoring emissions and identifying opportunities to reduce its overall carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

These efforts reflect the company’s continued focus on improving emissions management while increasing the use of renewable energy as part of its long-term sustainability strategy.<\/p>\n

Accessibility remains a key part of ColorOS development<\/h4>\n

Beyond its environmental initiatives, OPPO continues to expand accessibility features across ColorOS to make its smartphones more usable for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

During 2025, the company optimized more than 30 core ColorOS applications with accessibility enhancements designed for users with visual, hearing, and motor impairments.<\/p>\n

These improvements include TalkBack screen reader support, AI-powered image descriptions, screen magnification, color correction and color inversion, speech-to-text transcription, and flash notifications for hearing assistance.<\/p>\n

According to OPPO, the enhancements are intended to make everyday smartphone interactions more accessible while supporting its broader goal of promoting digital inclusion through technology.<\/p>\n

OPPO invests in AI-powered health research<\/h4>\n

OPPO also expanded its smart health initiatives with the opening of the OPPO Fitness Health Laboratory in Binhaiwan, now the company’s largest sports and health research facility.<\/p>\n

The laboratory conducts research across several areas, including exercise science, cardiovascular health, sleep monitoring, lifestyle management, cognitive health, weight management, blood pressure management, and AI-assisted health technologies.<\/p>\n

According to OPPO, findings from the facility will support the development of health and wellness features for future OPPO devices, reinforcing the company’s broader strategy of integrating scientific research into its consumer technology ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Global partnerships support education and cultural preservation<\/h4>\n

For the second consecutive year, OPPO partnered with the Discovery Channel on the “Culture in a Shot” initiative, encouraging users in 15 countries to document local traditions and festivals through mobile photography.<\/p>\n

OPPO also strengthened its collaboration with the UNESCO by donating 1,000 tablets to schools across Asia and Africa. The devices support information technology education, programming instruction, and digital learning in regions with limited access to computing hardware.<\/p>\n
