Verified users of the VYBE will also continue to enjoy fee-free interbank transfers.

By eliminating transaction fees, BPI expects more customers to use digital fund transfers for everyday payments, remittances, and routine banking transactions. The initiative aligns with the broader shift toward cashless banking, where reducing transaction costs can encourage greater adoption of digital financial services.

Move aligns with BSP’s updated pricing policy

BPI said the initiative is also aligned with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular No. 1238, Series of 2026, which encourages BSP-supervised financial institutions to adopt reasonable and market-based pricing for person-to-person electronic fund transfers.

The policy reflects ongoing efforts to improve access to digital financial services while encouraging wider adoption of electronic payments across the country.

As digital banking continues to grow in the Philippines, several financial institutions have introduced or maintained free fund transfers as competition shifts toward value-added services and ecosystem integration rather than transaction fees.

Customers advised to update the BPI app

Ahead of the rollout, BPI also reminded customers to update the BPI mobile app to the latest version.

The update includes performance improvements and minor fixes designed to enhance the user experience. Customers can download the latest version through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.

With free InstaPay and PESONet transfers becoming permanent, BPI joins the growing number of financial institutions reducing digital banking costs as electronic payments become increasingly central to everyday financial transactions in the Philippines.

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) will permanently remove fees for interbank fund transfers made through InstaPay and PESONet beginning July 1, 2026, making digital transfers to other banks and e-wallets free across its online platforms.
