And in true BPI fashion, the bank brought together over 230 decision-makers\u2014from government suits to private sector heavyweights\u2014to prove that this isn\u2019t just tech talk. It\u2019s a people issue.<\/p>\n

President and CEO Jose Teodoro \u201cTG\u201d Limcaoco didn\u2019t mince words. \u201cWe see ourselves as partners not only to our customers but to the nation,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n

Limcaoco\u2019s tone matched the urgency outlined in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.\u2019s written address. The president stressed that a resilient digital economy requires cooperation from all sectors\u2014including that underappreciated superhero: the Filipino consumer.<\/p>\n

Jon Paz and the Frontlines of Scam Defense and Consumer Trust in 2025<\/h3>\n

Jon Paz, BPI\u2019s resident cyber guardian, took the mic and made it personal.<\/p>\n

\u201cProtecting our customers goes beyond securing systems\u2014it means empowering them with the knowledge they need to stay safe online,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Deputy Governor Elmore Capule of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas walked attendees through its provisions. In short: money muling, phishing, and social engineering shenanigans are officially criminal offenses. Not just annoying. Not just unethical. Illegal.<\/p>\n
