Defending MPL champions Team Liquid PH made it six games unbeaten as they closed Week 3 of MPL Philippines Season 17 on top of the standings.
In a week that saw all seven series end in sweeps, TLPH widened the gap heading into the halfway point of the league.
The Cavalry made quick work of Smart Omega and TNC Pro Team. Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno led the way with a combined 7/3/18 KDA across the two series. Meanwhile, Jaypee “Jaypee” dela Cruz spearheaded their 2-0 win against TNC Pro Team with a 3/2/16 line. The veteran also became the third player in MPL Philippines history to reach 3,000 career assists.
Team Falcons PH also lived up to their early-season billing with two match wins, finishing Week 3 at 4-1. David “Flap” Canon led the Green Falcons to a win against Smart Omega, while Michael “Kyle” Sayson’s elite gameplay helped them cruise past Twisted Minds PH.
ONIC Philippines were the last team to go 2-for-2 this week, climbing to third in the standings with a 3-2 slate. King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez helped the Sonics defeat AP.Bren, while Clayton “Savero” Kiswanto shined in their win against rivals Aurora Gaming.

Aurora, who had only one match in Week 3, slid from second to fourth after the loss to ONIC. AP.Bren and Twisted Minds joined them with two wins, though the world champions remained ahead due to a better point differential.
Twisted Minds PH, meanwhile, were the only team outside the top three to secure a win this week. Lance Aron “Lansu” Misa helped his squad claim just their second win of the season, improving to a 2-4 record.
With Twisted Minds securing a victory, Smart Omega and TNC Pro Team found themselves at the bottom of the standings, both holding 1-4 records entering Week 4.
Both teams will have two series each to improve their standings. Smart Omega will face ONIC Philippines and Aurora Gaming, while TNC will take on Falcons and AP.Bren.

AP.Bren, who are on a three-series skid, will look to end the slump in matches against Falcons and Aurora.
However, all eyes are set on Sunday’s clash between ONIC Philippines and Team Liquid PH, highlighted by the gold lane matchup between Indonesian reinforcement Savero and Rookie of the Season frontrunner Dave “Teddy” Viana.
