Canon imagePROGRAF TM Series adds first large-format MFPs

Canon launched eight new Canon imagePROGRAF TM Series models in Manila on October 1, 2026. The announcement includes the series’ first multifunction printers with built-in large-format scanners. Canon says the compact lineup is designed for offices, engineering firms and print shops, with operation from the front of the machines.

Six models are printers: the TM-5500, TM-5600, TM-5510, TM-5515, TM-5610 and TM-5615. The two multifunction models are the 36-inch TM-5610M and the 24-inch TM-5510M. Canon identifies these MFPs as the additions that bring printing, copying and scanning together in one unit.

The company describes the multifunction machines as comparable in size to its printer-only models. The announcement presents their built-in scanning capability alongside a compact design and front operation. The scanners are integrated into the two multifunction printers identified in the release. The 36-inch and 24-inch sizes distinguish the two MFP models listed in the release.

Built-in scanners and front operation

For the multifunction models, Canon says users can place originals on the flat top of the machine. Its description combines print, copy and scan functions in one compact unit. The company positions the lineup for the office, engineering and print-shop settings identified in its Philippine announcement.

Canon says light sources on both sides of the scanner reduce shadows, wrinkles and creases. These scanning features are presented as part of its description of cleaner scans. The company also lists presets for CAD drawings, blueprints and maps, saying they are intended to deliver the best results for those documents.

The release’s scanner description concerns the two multifunction models. Canon lists the other six units as printers, while the TM-5610M and TM-5510M carry the integrated large-format scanning capability highlighted in the launch.

Pigment ink and colour mapping

For the Canon imagePROGRAF TM Series, Canon highlights a five-colour pigment-ink system that includes a new matte black ink. The company says it delivers deeper blacks, crisp lines and precise text at high speed. These are the printing characteristics described in its announcement under sharper drawings.

The release also highlights new colour-mapping technology for poster printing. According to Canon, this produces vivid prints even on plain paper. The company presents sharper drawings and bolder posters among the printing features of the newly announced range.

Canon says parts of the printer bodies use approximately 5% recycled iron and 25% recycled plastic. Those percentages describe parts of the bodies, following the wording of the announcement. The company includes the materials information alongside its scanner, ink and colour-mapping features.
