Team Liquid PH Falls Short, Terror Queens Triumph

Liquid’s Early Momentum Stalls in the Playoffs

Team Liquid PH came into the third-place match at the MLBB Women’s Invitational 2025 with hopes of ending their campaign on a high. Instead, they were met with a clean 3-0 defeat from Myanmar’s Terror Queens, a team that turned mid-to-late game decision-making into a weapon. Team Liquid PH Falls in the last match

Across all three games, Liquid had early leads. But momentum isn’t enough if you can’t close—and that’s where the Terror Queens shined.

CLA Lights Up But It’s Not Enough, but Team Liquid PH Falls in Game 1

Clarisse “CLA” Cordova brought her signature Granger pick into the fight and tallied 12 kills across the series. Her mechanics were sharp, her rotations aggressive, and she set the tone each game.

Game 1 looked promising until the 18th-minute Lord steal shifted everything. That crucial moment gave Myanmar the confidence to punish both CLA and Ramicii’s Joy, paving the way for Yadanar “Hlaingrina” Hlang’s Lapu-Lapu, who sealed the game with six kills and seven assists.

Early Fire, Late Collapse

Liquid tried to reset in Game 2 and once again came out swinging. A Lord take from Ramicii sparked hope, but the price was steep—three teammates down, and no map control.

Terror Queens flipped the momentum with composure and patience, waiting for the 19th-minute team fight to expose the Filipinas’ lack of scaling. Running three marksmen, Myanmar exploited that gap brutally.

Lynn “Lunalynn” Lett Naing’s Kimmy was flawless with an 8/1/4 stat line, while Kyla “Sojuuu” Ramos’ Mathilda offered precision support with three kills and 19 assists.

Game 3: Promising Start, Painful Finish

Game 3 began like the others—with a strong early-game punch. Liquid opened with a 5-1 kill lead, and for a moment, it looked like the reverse sweep was in play.

Then came the pick-off on CLA. And just like that, the gears of Terror Queens clicked once more. Lunalynn’s Kimmy was again untouchable, adding another five kills and seven assists to her tally.

Meanwhile, Zaishii’s Zhuxin couldn’t find rhythm, finishing with just one kill and four assists.

Rankings, Rewards, and Reflections

In the end, Team Liquid PH finished fourth, taking home US$30,000. A solid prize for a team that showed flashes of brilliance but struggled with late-game cohesion. The ladies of the cavalry still made us proud, the debutants placed 4th in their first global competition.

The Terror Queens, with their third-place finish, secured US$50,000 and confirmed their reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s rising contenders.
