Canon Philippines Launches Canon PhotoMarathon 2026; Camera Prizes Up for Grabs
Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc. officially launched Canon PhotoMarathon 2026 on January 27, marking the return of one of the country’s longest-running photography competitions as the company continues to strengthen its creator-focused initiatives.
The announcement was made during Canon Philippines’ annual Thanksgiving Celebration. The company gathered media partners, brand ambassadors, and members of the professional creator community. It signals Canon’s continued push to support photographers and hybrid creators as visual storytelling increasingly spans both stills and video.
Expanding Focus on Video Creation
For 2026, Canon is placing greater emphasis on its video category, reflecting the growing role of motion content in the creator space. Participants in this category are encouraged to explore narrative-driven storytelling that combines visuals, sound, and pacing.
The shift mirrors Canon’s broader imaging strategy, which in recent years has leaned toward hybrid-capable cameras designed for both photography and video use.

Event Details and Eligibility
Canon PhotoMarathon 2026 will take place on April 18, 2026, at the BGC Amphitheater in Taguig City. The competition is open to professionals, enthusiasts, students, camera club members, and hybrid creators. Several categories are also open to non-Canon users.
Registration is done through the Canon PH Delightful mobile application, available on both Android and iOS platforms. Participants must register via the app’s Events section to receive confirmation.
Categories and Camera Prizes
The Main Photo Category is exclusive to Canon users, with a Canon EOS R6 Mark III paired with an RF24–105mm lens awarded to the winner. The Open Photo Category allows all camera brands, with a Canon EOS R8 with a 24–50mm lens as the top prize.
The Video Category is also open to all camera brands. Canon users can win a Canon EOS R50 V, while non-Canon users compete for a Canon PowerShot V1.

Lead-Up Activities Ahead of April
Ahead of the main event, Canon will participate in PhotoWorld Asia 2026, running from January 29 to February 1, where attendees can access camera promotions and bundled freebies on select products.
Canon will also roll out a series of photowalks, school visits, and regional tours from February through March 2026. These activities aim to engage photographers at different skill levels and build momentum leading up to PhotoMarathon. Participation is free and open to all digital camera users.
Canon PhotoMarathon first began in Singapore in 2003 and has since expanded across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Now in its 19th year locally, the competition remains known for its time-based format, requiring participants to produce images based on assigned themes within a limited window.
