Canon and AFPSLAI Push Digitization Further with Phase 2

Canon, AFPSLAI Advance Loan Records Digitization Project

From Paper to Pixels: Phase 2 Goes Deeper

Canon Marketing Philippines and AFPSLAI are back at it—this time with a sharper focus and a bigger ambition. Phase 2 of their Records Digitization Project isn’t just about scanning documents. It’s about transforming how loan records are handled, accessed, and secured. Canon and AFPSLAI Push Digitization Further with Phase 2

After digitizing millions of membership records in Phase 1, the new phase targets AFPSLAI’s loan documents. That means 15 million pages—yes, million—will be digitized over six months using Canon’s Therefore™ Document Management System. The goal? Centralized, secure, and lightning-fast access to loan data. Because in finance, speed and accuracy aren’t luxuries—they’re lifelines.

DIGICUR Compliance and Workflow Automation

This isn’t just a tech upgrade—it’s a strategic move. The project aligns with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ DIGICUR mandate, which requires financial institutions to digitize customer records. But Canon and AFPSLAI aren’t stopping at compliance. They’re going full throttle into workflow automation.

“Phase 2 marks our move from digitization to full workflow automation,” said Kenichiro Kitamura, Head of Canon’s Business Imaging Solutions Division. Translation: AFPSLAI won’t just have digital files—they’ll have a smart system that routes, retrieves, and manages data with minimal human friction.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Transformation

Canon’s President and CEO Anuj Aggarwal summed it up: “Canon is proud to be AFPSLAI’s trusted partner in digital transformation.” And that trust is earned. Canon isn’t just providing scanners and software—they’re delivering scalable, secure solutions that support long-term growth.

For AFPSLAI, this means better service for its members. RADM Nichols A. Driz, PN (Ret), President and CEO of AFPSLAI, emphasized that this milestone enables faster, more secure, and more efficient loan services. In other words, less waiting, fewer errors, and more confidence for the people who rely on AFPSLAI every day.

Digitization with a Mission

This project isn’t just about tech—it’s about impact. It’s about modernizing legacy systems to meet the demands of a digital-first world. It’s about giving AFPSLAI’s members—many of whom are retired military and police personnel—the kind of service they deserve.

And it’s about showing that digital transformation doesn’t have to be flashy to be meaningful. Sometimes, it’s about quietly scanning 15 million pages and building a smarter, faster, more resilient system behind the scenes.
