Acer Introduces MediaTek-Powered Chromebooks Built for Modern Classrooms
Acer is expanding its education portfolio with the launch of the Acer Chromebook 311 and Acer Chromebook Spin 311, its first student-focused Chromebooks powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor. Designed for K–12 environments, the new devices combine long battery life, durable builds, and efficient performance aimed at supporting today’s increasingly digital classrooms.
Designed for Everyday Learning
At the core of both models is the MediaTek Kompanio 540, a power-efficient processor built to handle everyday academic workloads—from web-based learning tools to more demanding applications such as STEM software and Minecraft: Education Edition. Acer says the new Chromebooks can deliver up to 15 hours of battery life, allowing students to get through a full school day and beyond without frequent charging.
The fanless design keeps operation quiet, making the devices suitable for classrooms, libraries, and shared learning spaces.
Clamshell or Convertible Flexibility
Acer is offering two form factors to suit different learning needs. The Acer Chromebook 311 (C725/T) features a traditional clamshell design that is compact and lightweight, making it easy for younger students to carry between classes.
Meanwhile, the Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (R725T) features a 360-degree hinge that allows it to switch between laptop, tablet, tent, and display modes. This flexibility supports activities such as note-taking, sketching, and reading, particularly in creative or interactive lessons.

Both models feature an 11.6-inch HD IPS display, with the Spin 311 offering an optional Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass option. Schools can also opt for TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue-light displays to support extended screen time.
Built to Withstand Classroom Use
Durability remains a key focus for Acer’s education devices. The new Chromebooks meet MIL-STD 810H standards and are built with impact-resistant exteriors, shock-absorbing bumpers, and internal honeycomb structures designed to protect against drops of up to 122 centimeters.
Spill resistance is also addressed, with keyboards designed to route liquids away from internal components. Reinforced I/O ports and display brackets help protect against wear and tear from daily use, while rubberized feet improve grip and handling for younger users.
To reduce long-term costs for schools, Acer has incorporated modular components that make repairs easier. The keyboards and USB Type-C ports can be replaced quickly, minimizing downtime and helping extend device lifespans.

Connectivity, Cameras, and Classroom Tools
Both Chromebooks are equipped with Full HD webcams and dual microphones for virtual classes and group projects, with an optional world-facing camera for science and creative applications. A dedicated Quick Insert key provides one-touch access to productivity tools and apps, helping students work more efficiently.
Support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 ensures stable and fast connectivity, whether devices are used in classrooms, labs, or at home.
Sustainability and IT Management
Acer says the new Chromebooks align with its sustainability goals through the use of post-consumer recycled plastics, eco-friendly packaging, and energy-efficient designs. The devices are EPEAT registered and carry Energy Star and TCO certifications.
For schools, the Chromebooks are available with Chrome Education Upgrade, enabling streamlined deployment, zero-touch enrollment, and centralized IT management. This allows administrators to manage large fleets securely while keeping devices ready for student use.
Availability
The Acer Chromebook 311 is set to launch in North America, EMEA, and Australia starting March 2026, with prices beginning at USD 499.99 in the U.S. The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 will also be available from March 2026, starting at USD 579.99 in North America. Pricing and availability may vary by region.
With these new models, Acer reinforces its focus on education technology—offering durable, flexible, and power-efficient Chromebooks designed to meet the evolving needs of students, teachers, and school IT teams.
