Back to the Future fans and sneakerheads rejoice! It is confirmed, legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield (Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Jordan 3 to 15 are just some of his most famous designs) announced in his recent appearance at the Agenda Emerge conference 2015 that the Nike Air MAG will arrive, this time with the power laces. It was initially released last 2011 with traditional manual laces, where all 1500 pairs were sold through auction for the foundation of Michael J. Fox. No exact date for the release has been given, but Tinker has promised his team is working very hard to make it within the year.

2015 is the year in the movie wherein the shoes were shown and fans have been clamoring for a pair ever since 1985. The 2011 release was far from affordable with prices ranging from $100,000 to $900,000. Last year saw the release of a similar shoe, albeit not by Nike but by Universal Pictures, who holds the license for the films, as a Marty McFly costume for last year’s Halloween celebrations. It only cost $100 but was sold out immediately.

Rumors of the shoe have been circling since 2010 when Nike placed a patent for “automatically lacing trainers”
