Vivo V60: A Photographic Masterpiece of Style and Performance.

A Design That Demands Attention
Let’s be real for a second: first impressions are everything. The moment you unbox the vivo V60, you can tell this isn’t just another phone. I’m holding the Berry Purple model, and the name alone tells you something. It’s elegant, sophisticated, and has this subtle, frosted glass back those just shimmers when the light hits it. There are other colors, sure—Summer Blue and Mist Gray—but a word of advice: if you want that premium feel, if you want that frosted glass, go for the Berry Purple or the Summer Blue. The Mist Gray, while still handsome. Vivo V60: A Photographic Masterpiece of Style and Performance.

The in-hand feel is fantastic. You might notice the frame is made of plastic, but it doesn’t feel cheap at all. vivo has managed to keep the phone at just 7.5mm thin, an impressive feat when you consider the massive battery they crammed inside. At 203 grams, it feels substantial and dense, not hollow. It’s got a great, comfortable weight that makes it feel solid and dependable in your hand.

And speaking of dependability, let’s talk durability. This phone comes with Diamond Shield glass, which is basically the same as Shot Sensation glass. In my experience, it’s pretty scratch-resistant. But here’s the truly mind-blowing part: it comes with an IP68 and IP69 rating. Now, IP68 is cool; it means your phone can survive being dunked in water for a bit. We’ve seen that on a lot of phones. But IP69? That’s next level. It means the phone is protected against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. This is the kind of rating you normally see on industrial equipment, not a sleek, consumer smartphone. vivo claims you can take it underwater for 1.5 meters for 120 minutes. I’m being honest, I think we have to test that in a future video, because that’s insane.
Performance: A Breath of Fresh Air
This is what we were all waiting for. The moment vivo finally ditched that old Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The vivo V60 ships with the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, and let me tell you, it is a game-changer for this series. This chipset delivers a significant upgrade, with up to a 27% boost in CPU performance and a 30% jump in GPU rendering compared to its predecessor. While it’s still paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage—not the latest and greatest—the optimization vivo has done is excellent. Vivo V60: A Photographic Masterpiece.

We ran the usual benchmarks, and the results were very impressive for a phone in this segment. AnTuTu gave us a score of around 980,000, which is solid. But what really blew me away was the CPU throttle test. We ran it for 30 minutes, and there was zero throttling. Zero! That’s something you barely see even on some flagship devices. The phone also maintained 99% GPU stability in 3DMark, with temperatures not even crossing the 40-degree mark. The thermal management on this thing is legit.
Now, for the fun part: gaming. For everyday games like COD Mobile, we got a buttery-smooth 90 frames per second. But to really push it, we ran Genshin Impact at the highest possible graphics settings with a target of 60fps. The phone held up beautifully, averaging around 52fps with temps staying at a comfortable 41 degrees. So, while it’s not a serious gaming phone—there are other, more powerful options for that—the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is a very dependable and efficient daily driver that can handle some light gaming without breaking a sweat. Plus, they finally added NFC support, which is a big win, and it comes with Wi-Fi 6 and 11 5G bands, so you’re all set for the future.
Battery That Goes All Day and Beyond
You’ve got all this performance and durability, but it’s nothing without a great battery. And the V60 delivers. Despite its slim profile, it packs a massive 6,500mAh lithium-ion battery. This is a huge upgrade from the previous generation. I haven’t had a chance to do my full battery tests yet, but I’m confident this thing can give you at least seven hours of screen-on time, easily. It will last you through a full day of heavy use with no problem.

And when it comes to charging, vivo has included a 90-watt fast charger right in the box. Take notes, Samsung. This isn’t some fancy, brand-new silicon-carbon tech; it’s just good old lithium-ion, and vivo managed to make this phone incredibly thin and still include a huge battery. In my quick test, it went from 0 to 100% in a little over 50 minutes. That’s lightning fast, which means you spend more time using the phone and less time waiting for it to charge.
The Camera: A True Portrait Master
The V-series has always been about the camera, and with the V60, vivo has doubled down on what it does best: portraits. The overall camera experience is a perfect combination of hardware, software, and a very smart algorithm. As I mentioned, it has a 50MP main camera with OIS, a new 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera with OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide. The big trade-off here is that vivo sacrificed the high-res 50MP ultrawide from the V50 to give us a real telephoto lens. Honestly, I think it was the right move. The addition of the telephoto more than makes up for the less-than-stellar ultrawide.
Thanks to the ZEISS collaboration, you get the amazing ZEISS portrait lenses. We have five different focal lengths to choose from, from 23mm all the way to a new 100mm. The portrait quality is, and I don’t say this lightly, the best I’ve tested in this price bracket. The edge detection is excellent, and the bokeh is simply beautiful. Every strand of hair, every detail is captured perfectly. There’s even a special “10x Telephoto Stage Portrait” mode that’s perfect for concert photography, allowing you to get a clear shot of the artist from way in the back. Vivo V60: A Photographic Masterpiece of Style and Performance.
For general photography, the main sensor is a beast. Photos are highly detailed and have great HDR. The colors are slightly vivid by default—what vivo calls the “ZEISS Vivid” look—but you can easily switch to “ZEISS Natural” for a more true-to-life tone. The new telephoto sensor also captures fantastic shots, not just at 3.5x but even at 10x digital zoom. Low light photos with the main sensor are impressive thanks to the OIS, but the real star is the Aura Light. It adjusts to the environment, making flash photos look soft and natural instead of harsh and overexposed.
As for video, it’s pretty solid but with a few limitations. You can shoot up to 4K at 30fps on the main, telephoto, and selfie cameras. However, there’s no 4K at 60fps, and the ultrawide is limited to 1080p. The stabilization and audio are good, but if you’re a serious video creator, you might have to look elsewhere.
Display and Software: A Polished Experience
A phone like this deserves a top-tier display, and vivo delivered. The V60 has a beautiful 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display. It’s Full HD, not 1.5K, but you honestly won’t notice a difference in daily use. The 120Hz refresh rate is incredibly smooth, and the 5,000 nits HDR peak brightness is insane, making it a joy to use outdoors.
On the software front, the phone runs FunTouch OS 15 based on Android 15. The UI is fluid, the animations are pleasing, and the level of customization is awesome. You get new AI features like AI Image Expander and Google’s Circle to Search. The best news? You get four years of major Android updates and six years of security patches. That’s a huge commitment from vivo. While there is some bloatware, thankfully, you can uninstall most of it. The haptics could be better, but the stereo speakers are loud and clear.
A Solid Contender
At the end of the day, the vivo V60 is a fantastic option under ₱30,000. It’s not just a portrait master; it’s a phone that delivers on almost every front. It has a beautiful, durable design, a huge battery with super-fast charging, a great display, and a processor that is finally worthy of a phone in this price range.
