Vivo X Fold 5 Unfolds Power and Polish

Vivo Folds Big Into Premium Territory

The foldable smartphone space has been anything but quiet, but Vivo seems to have pulled a full symphony with the launch of the Vivo X Fold 5—Launched in India the growing lineup of luxe, book-style foldables. Priced at Rs. 1,49,999 (PHP 99,189.41), it’s a statement piece in Titanium Grey, and yes—it’s already open for pre-orders. Just don’t expect it to fit into your skinny jeans.

This isn’t just a foldable phone. It’s a full-blown flagship disguised as a fold. You get two AMOLED displays—one 8.03-inch inner panel and a 6.53-inch cover screen—both with 120Hz refresh rates and 4,500 nits peak brightness, because apparently Vivo believes you should be able to use your phone on the surface of the sun.

Display Excellence Without the Drama

We’re talking 2,480 × 2,200 pixels inside, 2,748 × 1,172 pixels outside—both tuned with TÜV Rheinland eye protection and Zeiss Master colour calibration, which basically means, if you’re editing mobile videos or doom-scrolling social media, your eyes might actually thank you for once.

The device runs on Android 15-based FuntouchOS 15, which is the latest flavor of Vivo’s polished and gesture-happy UI. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage—enough for gaming, multitasking, and collecting memes you’ll never delete.

Camera Setup That’s Overqualified

If someone told you a foldable wouldn’t excel in photography, Vivo would like a word. The back flaunts a trio of 50MP sensors:

  • Sony IMX921 for primary duties, with OIS and an f/1.57 aperture
  • Sony IMX882 telephoto with 3x optical and 100x digital zoom (because why not)
  • Samsung JN1 ultrawide, because landscapes deserve love too

For selfies, it offers two 20MP front shooters, one inside and one on the cover—because apparently, your face looks better when surrounded by folding glass. Oh, and there’s AI Image Studio, ready to airbrush and enhance your photo game with minimal effort and maximum flair.

Battery and Build for Real Life

The 6,000mAh battery is split smartly across the hinge, giving users decent longevity and balancing weight. It supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging—so yes, it charges like it’s late for a meeting. Vivo claims water and dust resistance with IPX8, IPX9, and IP5X ratings. Translation: a splash of monsoon or pocket dust isn’t going to ruin your day.

Security? A side-mounted fingerprint sensor, because not every flagship needs to play peekaboo with under-display tech. Connectivity is as full-featured as expected: Bluetooth 5.4, dual nano SIMs, NFC, GPS, and USB-C. Folded, the X Fold 5 measures 9.2mm thick. Unfolded? A slick 4.3mm profile. Total weight? 217g, which is lighter than some gaming phones and heavier than your guilt for ignoring group chats.

Vivo X Fold 5’s Role in the Foldable Game

With slick design, top-tier cameras, future-ready internals, and battery endurance baked in, the Vivo X Fold 5 is out to challenge perceptions. Foldables aren’t novelties anymore—they’re becoming daily drivers. And Vivo isn’t just dipping a toe in. It’s cannonballing into the premium pool.

As of yet we are still not able to confirm if the vivo X Fold 5 will be released in the Philippines. But if it rest assured that we will be doing a review of the phone.
