LG 2025 OLED TVs Shine in Any Light
LG Becomes the First to Earn TÜV Certification for True Visual Experience with Indoor Lighting
Not all lighting is created equal—especially when it comes to displays. In many homes, lighting setups differ dramatically from showroom conditions, making it a challenge for TVs to consistently deliver the same color depth, contrast, and clarity we see in marketing demos. That’s exactly where LG’s 2025 OLED TV lineup breaks new ground.

These latest premium OLED models have officially become the first TVs in the world to receive the “True Visual Experience with Indoor Lighting” certification from Germany’s TÜV Rheinland, a global leader in testing and certification standards.
Put simply, this isn’t your typical brightness boost or minor refresh. This is validation that LG’s OLED TVs offer cinema-grade visuals even when your living room lights are on.
Tested for Real Homes, Not Just Showrooms
The certification didn’t come easy. TÜV Rheinland subjected LG’s 2025 OLED panels to 500 lux lighting—roughly equivalent to a sunlit living room or well-lit office. That’s a true test of whether a panel can maintain contrast and color integrity without getting washed out.
The TVs earned a “Perfect” grade across five key visual metrics:
- Blackness – deep, untainted blacks even under harsh light
- Vividness – consistent color pop and saturation
- Perceptual contrast length – detail retention across image depths
- Gradation – smooth tonal transition without harsh banding
- Ambient contrast modulation – dynamic response to changing lighting conditions
You don’t need blackout curtains or ambient-bias lighting to enjoy your content with these displays. LG’s OLED tech knows how to stand its ground.
Not Just TÜV: Multiple Verifications Across Key Metrics
LG is clearly on a mission to make a point. Beyond the TÜV recognition, LG’s OLED panels have also been:
- Verified by UL Solutions for delivering Perfect Black and Perfect Color
- Confirmed by Intertek for 100% color fidelity and 100% color volume
Together, these accolades build the case for what LG has long claimed: that its OLED displays aren’t just great in optimal conditions. They are engineered for the real world—where lights are on, windows are open, and ambient conditions are rarely ideal.
LG’s Market Leadership: Data That Backs the Design
It’s one thing to earn certification. It’s another to translate it into consumer trust. According to market intelligence firm Omdia, LG captured a commanding 52% share of the global OLED TV market in Q1 2025.
That’s more than half of the global pie—an astonishing hold in a highly competitive space dominated by innovation and brand loyalty. Even more impressively, as of April 2025, LG also became the first brand to sell over 10 million OLED TVs in Europe alone.
Clearly, the market is responding. And with this latest TÜV certification, that momentum is unlikely to slow down.

Technology That Elevates Every Frame
At the core of this visual performance is LG’s relentless R&D work on its proprietary OLED architecture. Unlike traditional LCDs that rely on backlights, OLEDs offer self-emissive pixels, which can completely switch off to produce absolute blacks. That pixel-level control allows for infinite contrast ratios and pinpoint color accuracy.
The result? HDR scenes with jaw-dropping precision. Documentaries with lifelike greens. Cinematic shadows without loss of detail. All of it visible—even when the room isn’t dark.
As Jung Jae-chul, head of MS R&D Lab at LG, shared:
“We are dedicated to advancing OLED technology to create unparalleled viewing experiences through our premium TVs in any lighting environment.”
This isn’t innovation for innovation’s sake—it’s functionality that lives up to real consumer expectations.
Why This Matters to Everyday Viewers
We’ve all seen it. You turn on the TV midday, and suddenly that once-rich movie scene looks flat, washed out, and lifeless. The blacks become grays, and the shadows disappear altogether. That’s because many displays are optimized for contrast in dark conditions—not typical living spaces.
LG’s new certification proves their OLED TVs are tuned for the lighting conditions we actually live in. You don’t have to dim your room to enjoy deep blacks or accurate color anymore. That matters—especially in family homes, studios, and multi-use spaces where ambient light is a constant.
And with the growing popularity of home entertainment as an art form—think gaming, cinematic content creation, and photo editing—display consistency under all conditions becomes more than just a nice feature. It becomes a necessity.
Life isn’t just about having the latest technology—it’s about the meaningful experiences it creates and the impact it brings to our everyday lives.
