The patch still comes almost two months after the CPU defects was first exposed and almost nine months after Intel got first wind of the information of the possible flaws. Intel initially played down the issues and even went as far as stating that the average computer users should not find it significant and would be mitigated over time. The also promised a solution to the issue within a week’s time to solve the issue.

With more than enough time on their hands and a very relaxed attitude on the issue, Intel has not yet shown the capability to address and fix the issue properly. The competition in the CPU chips is now heating ups since AMD Ryzen has come into the scene and it is still unknown how this issue will impact Intel’s market dominance. We will be keeping tabs on the latest developments on the Spectre fix and will keep you updated if this latest patch will definitely and definitively address the issue.
