Cape Canaveral Florida, Elon Musk has done it. HIs company SpaceX successfully launches Falcon 9 Heavy Rocket. He has made space and space travel cool again and back in the mainstream media with the launch of his latest rocket. The Falcon 9 heavy recently completed a very successful flight and delivered a Tesla Roadster into space.
The launched was streamed lived over the internet with all the Space X employees beaming with joy and happiness when the countdown reached zero and the rockets ignited. The rocket blasted off the launch pad. The rocket flew across the sky, a few second later booster separation was achieved. When the main rocket approached low earth orbit it also separated from the payload. The Tesla roadster was speeding of into the direction of Mars.
Minutes after the launch booth boosters landed almost simultaneously on the landing pads, while the main rocket was unsuccessful in landing on SpaceX drone ship off the coast of Florida.
What does this launch mean to space exploration and the lunching of satellites? The technology clearly demonstrated the increase in capacity of the Falcon 9 rocket and will be able to bring heavier payloads into orbit. The Falcon 9 rocket has already been able to show that you can be economical in using rockets that can be re-launched into space which significantly drops the cost down for every launch. With the cost going down the number of launches will go up. Better satellites and now the will be able to deliver component to the International Space Station. Who knows someday in the not so distant future we will be able to send a manned expedition again to the moon. For an Encore SpaceX might finally be able to send explorers to Mars.
